Case Study 1 : Training Solution

Summary:
Provided a complete domain training solution, across global locations and 2,500 employees, for an IT leader in the BFS space.


The Need:

  • Our client is a world leader in banking products; it is known for its domain knowledge. Over the years, its IT services arm grew rapidly to equal the products division in size and turnover.
  • The 2,500 employees in the services division required to be trained at graded levels of domain expertise.

Our offering:
Our Domain Competency Solution builds domain knowledge from the bottom up.
  • Foundation Level
    • It starts with a Foundation Program, customized per your business.
    • Every employee undergoes this program, via an optimal mix of instructor-led classroom and e-learning sessions.
    • A certification examination leads to successful exit from the Foundation Level.

  • Level One
    • At the next level, Level One, employees undergo training based on their sub-domain requirement; for example, Capital Markets, Retail Banking, etc.
    • A certification exam leads to successful exit from Level One

  • Level Two
    • Level Two programs are totally focussed on individual project requirements and are not mandatory – for e.g., ATM processes; SWIFT; Asset Allocation; etc.

The result:

2800 employees went through the customized Foundation Finance Program, and achieved certification – with the advantage showing in client interactions, requirement analysis and project development and testing.
We have achieved a consistent feedback grade of a minimum of 4/5 on every program conducted to date. This feedback is collected and analyzed by our client.

Level One programs are now under design and pilot deliveries are under way.

Case Study 2 : Training Solution

Summary:
Provided a complete training solution, for the treasury personnel, of a leading corporate group with a turnover of INR 52 bio.


The Need:

  • Our client has large interest and exchange rate exposures. It is key that it develops and maintains expertise in the Treasury area; that every employee who becomes part of the Treasury team, gets a strong foundation in this subject, enabling him to interact with bankers with confidence, and understand the dynamics of each hedging product offered, in terms of its pricing, underlying risk and the fit to the requirements of the company.

  • Level One

    • A successful exit takes him to the next level, Level Two, where the employees undergo training in more advanced areas specific to the subject e.g. Forex Markets, Debt Markets, Derivatives etc. This included a practical trading game, to expose the employees to real life situations.
    • A certification exam leads to a successful exit and a selection into the final Treasury Team.

  • Hands – on experience
    • The top performers were sent to the dealing rooms of leading multi-national banks for a practical exposure to the Treasury area.

The result:

Over a span of 3 months, 10 employees were finally selected for the Treasury Team.

Case Study 3 : Consulting Solution

Summary:
Developed an end- to end module of Value at Risk for an IT product company.


The Need:

  • Our client is a flagship company of a domain focused Global Software group established in 1993. The company has units in USA, UK, Malaysia ,Singapore and India; and develops products in Treasury. It lacked a Risk management solution which was integral to their offerings.

Our offering:
Our consulting solution included
  • Advising them on their existing Treasury system in terms of product modifications and upgradation from a user's perspective.
  • Making client presentations in various countries and giving domain comfort to potential clients.
  • Developing a comprehensive end-to end Risk Management solution on Value at Risk. This was taken up in three stages :
  • Stage One
    • Defining the user specifications template.

  • Stage Two
    • Helping the technical team to translate the necessary requirements
    • providing on-going domain clarifications at each stage of development

  • Stage Three
    • Comprehensive Testing of the solution
    • Training the sales and implementation team on the product.

Our Deliverables:
Deliverables included, apart from the above activities:
  • user manuals detailing the functionality and procedures of the system.
  • training CBT to be used on an ongoing basis for the sales and implementation team.

The result:

In a span of 8 months, the product was successfully launched and implemented at leading banks in India.
